Opentrad is an open-source machine translation system designed initially for all the languages in Spain and for free for everyone.
Currently translation is available between more than twenty language pairs: we can find English or French, as well as Basque and Galician, thus offering a wide range of possibilities.
Besides, Opentrad is designed to be adapted and configured according to user needs, allowing its integration with other systems.
Right now thousands of people use Opentrad every day for the translation of texts, documents or websites. Other users use it to offer their personal or business pages, blogs, etc.. in English, Galician, Spanish, Portuguese, Catalan, Basque, etc.
Customize it
Opentrad's design allows for its customization and personalization both from a linguistic point of view, adopting the style book of an organization, or from a technical point of view, allowing its integration into IP networks or a full integration with other systems.

La nueva web San Sebastián Turismo ha integrado Opentrad

Esta semana se ha lanzado el renovado sitio web de San Sebastián Turismo. Entre otras novedades se encuentra la versión en catalán, con la que se quiere ofrecer una atención especial a los visitantes que llegan desde Cataluña (un 25% del total).

New proper-name recogniser for Opentrad
24-07-2009 From now on Opentrad includes a new tool: apertium-pn-recognizer, which detects and highlights proper nouns in texts which do not need translation. This process aims to avoid a very common error in machine translators: translation of proper names that can also be common names according to dictionaries.
